This Privacy Policy explains how İrem (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and shares information when you use the Gym Arc app for iPhone and Apple Watch (the “App”). If you have any questions, contact us at support@gymarc.net.
In short
- Your workout plans, workout history, body measurements and Apple Health data stay on your device.
- We use a small number of service providers for sign-in, subscriptions, analytics and notifications.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or tracking.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Account information
You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive your name, your email address (or an Apple private relay address if you choose “Hide My Email”) and an account identifier. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service.
1.2 Subscription and purchase information
Gym Arc Premium subscriptions are sold through the App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never receive your payment card details. We and our subscription service provider, Superwall, receive information about your subscription and purchases, such as the product, price, dates and trial status. This information is associated with a pseudonymous identifier derived from your account.
1.3 Onboarding answers used for subscription screens
To show and measure subscription screens, we share some of your onboarding answers with Superwall: your training goal, experience level, available equipment, number of training days, session length and focus areas, and whether you have completed onboarding and signed in. We do not share your name, email address, date of birth, height, weight or injury answers with Superwall.
1.4 Usage and device information
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used. It collects app opens, sessions, screens viewed, app updates, in-app purchase events, the workout reminder time you choose, your device model, operating system version, language, app version, an app instance identifier, and your approximate location (such as country, region or city) derived from your IP address. We do not collect your precise location and we do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).
1.5 Push notifications
If you allow notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging assigns a device token so we can send workout reminders and service messages. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.
1.6 Information that stays on your device
Your profile answers (such as date of birth, height, weight, goals, experience level and injury limitations), workout plans, workout history, body weight entries and settings are stored only on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. They may be included in your iCloud or computer backups, which are controlled by Apple. If you export a backup file from the App, you decide where it is stored or sent.
1.7 Apple Health
With your permission, the iPhone app reads steps, active energy, exercise minutes, resting heart rate, body fat percentage and workouts from Apple Health to show your statistics. With your permission, the Apple Watch app reads heart rate, steps and active energy during workouts and saves your completed workouts and active energy to Apple Health.
Health data is processed only on your devices. It is never sent to our servers or to third parties, and it is never used for advertising or marketing. You can change these permissions at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings.
1.8 Photos
If you tap Save on a badge or streak card, the App asks for permission to add that image to your photo library. The App cannot read your photos.
2. How we use information
- To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
- To provide the App and give you access to your subscription.
- To display, measure and improve subscription screens.
- To understand how the App is used, fix problems and improve features.
- To send workout reminders and service messages, if you allow notifications.
- To respond to your requests and to comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal bases
Where data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on these legal bases:
- Contract: to provide your account, your subscription and the App.
- Consent: for notifications, Apple Health access and saving images to Photos. You can withdraw consent at any time in iOS Settings.
- Legitimate interests: for analytics, security and improving the App.
- Legal obligation: where we must keep or disclose information by law.
4. How we share information
We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf:
- Google LLC – Firebase Authentication, Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Cloud Messaging (sign-in, analytics and notifications).
- Superwall, Inc. – subscription screens and subscription status.
- Apple Inc. – Sign in with Apple, App Store payments, Apple Health and notification delivery.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep information
- Account information: until you delete your account.
- Subscription records: as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
- Analytics data: for a limited period, according to the retention settings of Google Analytics.
- Information on your device: until you delete it or delete the App.
7. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: in the App, open the Settings tab and tap Delete my account, then sign in again with Apple or Google to confirm. This deletes your sign-in account and removes the App’s data from your device. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription; you can cancel it in your Apple Account subscription settings.
- Permissions: you can change notifications, Apple Health and Photos access in iOS Settings.
- Your rights: depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your information, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email support@gymarc.net. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We and our service providers use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date above, and if the changes are significant we will let you know in the App.
